Henri Mondor

Henri Mondor , born the May 20th 1885 with Saint-Cernin in the Cantal in France and deceased the April 6th 1962 with Neuilly-sur-Seine in the Hauts-de-Seine, was a doctor, surgeon and historian of the literature French.

Biography

Professor of surgical private clinic with Paris, it published, in addition to medical works, a series of tests on Mallarmé and Paul Valéry: Life of Mallarmé (1941-42), the First Times of a friendship: Valéry and Gide (1947), Alain (1953), Precocity of Valéry (1957) as well as the correspondence of Mallarmé and Valéry.

He is elected member of the national Académie of medicine in 1945, of the French Academy in 1946 and of the Academy of Science in 1961.
