Henri Lepage , born the April 21st 1941, is a economist French liberal.

He is graduate Institut of political studies of Paris in 1962 after being last by the College Janson-of-Sailly. He also old studied with the Université of Colorado (the United States) and with the London School off Economics (the United Kingdom). He is economic journalist of 1967 with 1976 in the weekly magazines Entreprise and Review .

Henri Lepage taught in the most various mediums: he was professor associated with the Université Paris-Dauphine and works now with the the European Parliament.

Henri Lepage is member of the Société of the Mount Pilgrim, administrator of ALEPS, founding member, president of the Scientific advice and member of the Board of directors of the Turgot Institute, which has the aim of promoting the liberal ideas near the makers of opinion.

Henri Lepage is classified among Scholars teaching. Its scientific contribution consists in making simple of the complex theories, and what can prove even more difficult, to make clear of the obvious facts a posteriori . If it made original contributions to the economy, its work is especially remarkable by the synthesis and the rigorous and didactic reformulation of American university work little known in France. Among the economists who believe in the values of the free enterprise and the market economy, some agree to recognize the need for an intervention of the State. Henri Lepage shows that the argumentation used in order to justify the intervention of the public authorities has limits and defects. Even if the choices on the market are dubious, it is a sophism to allot this uncertainty to the market while supposing without examination that the official choices not only would not cause uncertainty, but would be able to make it disappear.

Henri Lepage posts his interest for the theories of the property. He makes it possible to emphasize that property rights would not apply only to tangible properties, physical and tangible but also on intangible or mobile spaces (e.g.: private property on the Hertzian waves, water, the animals or the air). The private property would not result from technology employed to define it and protect it (for example, the barrier and the fence) but would originate in the rights attached to the property. According to these designs, technology would rise from the Property rights and not the reverse.

In the field of competition, Henri Lepage, under the initial influence of Friedrich Hayek, then of Murray Rothbard, which it made discover in France, was the first to publish calling into question of the " norme" of " compete with parfaite" , and of the empirical studies drawing the attention to universal realities - uncertainty, the passage of time, the impossibility of an unquestionable profit, the creation of information which is the true source of the production, of which holding them of this alleged standard do not hold account, whereas it is their existence even which returns the search for these standards possible and necessary.
