Henri Jadart

Henri Jadart is a French librarian born with Rethel on November 17th, 1847, deceased with Rheims on September 5th, 1921.

Charles Henri Jadart was temporary judge in his birthplace in 1873, then with Rheims in 1878. He gave up the magistrature in 1886 and was named conservative-assistant of the Library. He succeeded Eugene Courmeaux in 1895, like conservative of the Library and the Museum, until 1914. He left on Rheims and the Champagne, a true mine of work (its bibliography does not count less than 359 titles) and of historical documents of any nature.

Very active member of the national Academy of Rheims, it was, during 40 years, the general secretary. Knight of the Legion of honor, it married Louise Marie Givelet (1851-1930) and rests with the Cimetière of North.
