Henri Ier de Mecklembourg-Werle-Güstrow

Henri 1st of Meckelbmourg-Werle-Güstrow , (in German Heinrich 1st von Mecklenburg-Werle-Güstrow, born towards 1245, assassinated in 1291, is prince de Meclmebourg-Güstrow of 1277 with 1291.

He is the son of Nicolas {{Ier}} and of Jutta d' Anhalt.

Marriage and descent

In 1262, Henri 1st of Mecklembourg-Werle-Güstrow marries Risca († 1288), (girl of Birger). Three children are born from this union:

Henri de Mecklembourg-Werle-Penzlin (1292 with 1307); in 1290 it marries Mechtilde de Poméranie († 1299), (girl of Barnim 1st of Poméranie)

Risca de Mecklembourg-Werle-Güstrow († 1317); she marries in 1284 the duke Albert of Brunswick-Göttingen († 1318)

Henri de Mecklembourg-Werle-Güstrow († 1298)

Barnim de Mecklembourg-Werle-Güstrow († 1339)

Widower, Henri 1st of Mecklembourg-Güstrow marries in 1291 Mathilde of Brunswick-Lunebourg.

Biography

After the death of his/her father in 1277, at the time of the division between his/her brothers, Henri 1st receives part of Güstrow. It resides in its castle of Werle. Feeling a threat in the remarriage of their father, his sons assassinate it at the time of a shooting party in 1291.
