Henri III (October 28th 1017 - October 5th 1056), known as the Black , duke of Bavaria of 1026 with 1042, king of the Romans of 1039 with 1046 then emperor of the Romans of 1046 with 1056.

Biography

The June 4th 1039, the 22 years age, Henri III succeeds his father Conrad II (known as Salic the ) under King of the Romans. It must await Christmas 1046 for finally being crowned emperor with Rome by the pope Clément II.

He marries in 1036 Gunhild of Denmark, (+1038), girl of Knud Ier, king of Denmark and Emma of Normandy, regent of England.

He then marries in 1043 Agnès of Aquitaine (? - 1077), girl of the duke Guillaume V of Aquitaine.

His/her son Henri IV, six years old, succeeds to him under the regency of his mother Agnès of Aquitaine.
