Henri Gourdeaux , born in 1881, died in 1961 was a French trade unionist of the postal and telecommunications authorities, where it was militant of foreground during 60 years. Personality of the Socialist party as of before 1914, it was one of the national leaders of the French Communist party. It was also General adviser of the Seine between 1935 and 1940, then of 1945 with 1959.

Political militant

  • 1902: entry with postal and telecommunications authorities, like supernumerary then made.
  • 1906: following on May 1st, it is moved of Paris with Avignon. There remain 9 years in the Vaucluse, where he becomes one of the leaders of the socialist Federation; he is candidate appointed in 1910 and 1914.
  • 1915: return to Paris. It is one of the founders of the French Communist party, in 1920, at the time of the Congrès of Turns.
  • 1921: it enters to the management Committee of this party. This organization takes the name of central committee in 1924. Henri Gourdeaux will be member, until in 1947.

the trade unionist

  • before 1914, he is member of the General association of the agents of the postal and telecommunications authorities. This AG is transformed into National union of the agents of the postal and telecommunications authorities in 1918. It animates there the fraction which leaves the CGT in 1921, for CGTU.
  • 1925, it is elected general secretary of the federation of the postal and telecommunications authorities of the CGTU, function which it holds until the trade-union reunification of 1936.
  • 1933: member of the confederal office of CGTU.
  • 1936: he is secretary-assistant of the postal federation CGT, whose Albert Perrot is the general secretary. He is not re-elected at this station in 1938.
  • 1940-1944: it is one of the leaders clandestine of the trade unionism post-office employee, at the same time as it occupies of the responsibilities in the PCF. He, for this reason, had been condemned to death in absentia

  • 1935: election with the General advice of the the Seine, in the canton of Noisy-the-Dryness.
  • 1945: elected official with the Municipal council of Paris, Henri Gourdeaux sits again at the General advice of the Seine, until in 1959. He belongs to the communist group of this assembly.
