Henri Gouhier

Henri Gouhier (December 5th 1898 with Auxerre - March 31st 1994) is a Philosophe, Historien of philosophy and Critique arts person French.

Henri Gouhier is a historian of Christian inspiration . Its considerable work inspired the theologist Jésuite Henri de Lubac when he wrote in 1942, into full Second world war, the Drame of atheistic humanism .

Biography

He is pupil with the National university in 1919, aggregate of philosophy in 1921, graduate of the practical École of the high studies, section of religious sciences, in 1923, and arts doctor in 1926. He is professor of philosophy to the college of Troyes in 1925, with the Faculty of Arts of the university of Lille in 1929 and Bordeaux in 1940, then with the Sorbonne of 1941 to 1968, and honorary doctor of the universities of Geneva and Rome.

He is elected member of the Academy of Science morals and political in 1961, associated member of the royal Académie of Belgium in 1970, member of the French Academy in 1979, foreign member of Accademia nazionale dei Lincei in 1981, member corresponding of the royal Academy of sciences morals and policies of Madrid in 1989.
