It makes its first rises in balloon at 18 years.
It manufactures high-output steam engines with Mr. Flaud since 1849.
Since 1850 he imagines a new system of injector for the boilers, but cannot carry it out, for lack of means.
It deposits on August 20th, 1851 a patent (n° 12.226) on the application of the vapor to the aerial navigation. He collaborates with the Central School.

The vapor which is used to actuate the device condenses by communicating its energy in the form of speed with the water, which supplies the boiler then, without wasting none.
In 1859, the first engine equipped with the new system is tested, by preserving in parallel the old process in the event of help, which never will be used and quickly dismounted.
It receives, in 1859, the price of mechanics of the Academy of Science without same to have presented dossier.
It builds a tethered balloon of 25.000 m ³ for the World Fair of Paris of 1878, able to carry 40 passengers.
