Henri Ey
Henry Ey (Banyüls Dels Aspres August 10th 1900 - Banyüls Dels Aspres November 8th 1977) is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst French, known to have sought to bring closer Psychiatrie and Psychanalyse.
Very fertile in its writings, in particular a treaty of psychiatry (Masson ED. 1980) and by its teaching of clinical cases to the Library of the Parisian hospital Holy-Anne, whereas it directs a CHS to Bonneval, in Eure-et-Loir.
Its design of psychiatry revolves around the organodynamism .
Ideology
Henri Ey endeavoured to underline at the same time the organic bases (Hérédité, Physiopathologie, Neuromédiateur S cerebral, etc) and the dynamic prospect, psychoanalytical with the listening of the Parole of the Sujet. Its approach is entitled the organodynamism .
The organodynamism tries a synthesis between the psychiatric symptoms and the neurophysiological data. It is based on the idea that the failure of a function can generate the excessive development of another until the jump in the pathological one.
Its historical and theoretical sources are to be sought in the current jacksonien and néo-jacksonien.
The history of the jacksonism in psychiatry is initially that of an exchange between the neurological clinical fact and the evolutionism.
In the Thirties appear certain works of John Hughlings Jackson: the model of Jackson is also applicable to psychiatry, for example one used it in the description of schizophrenia (distinction of the primary education symptoms and the secondary symptoms).
- the Subject and the
The negative slope opens on a warning statement: it is neither careful, nor reasonable of inférer directly, the organic disorder to its matérialisation in and by the symptom (mecanicism). There is always a “variation organo-private clinic”. That implies that there is a process of reorganization in the process of disorganization and that there is always a psychic event in the psychopathological fact. For as much, if symptomatology is, in its demonstration, relatively independent of the negative disorder, it of it is always pathogéniquement dependant.
The positive slope accommodates all the productions of artistic creation, the poetic inspiration, the “Madness” (the “lyric core” of humanity) and thus makes an important place with the psychoanalysis. Psychoanalyze whose Ey fights the imperialism (1970), but of which it uses the concepts; concerned not to reverse Freud but to supplement it. So much so that one could summarize his project - which, there either, could not be reduced to that with that of “the unification of psychiatry and the psychoanalysis” (R. Sarro, 1978).
Critical
Ey and Japan
Doctor Henri Ey was always moved by the interest that the psychiatrists Japan board carried to its work (as it appears in his correspondence with Professor Hiroshi Ohashi de Kyoto and Osaka, in 1969, in connection with the translation of the Conscience ). But this interest had appeared since 1939, in well disturbed times (letter of O.Miyagi, of Tokyo, preserved at the Files), in connection with its design organo-dynamics.
More recently, in January 1995, on Internet, Doctor Fuyuhiko Furukawa (of Women' S Medical College of Tokyo), at the time of an exchange with North-American psychiatrists who had never heard of H.Ey, declared that “Henri Ey is one of the most known psychopathologists in Japan”. This North-American psychiatrist is since absent person of his “gaps” by learning that H. Ey had been translated into English, in 1978 with the Presses from Indiana ( Consciousness ) and was honorary doctor of the Université of Montreal.
