Henri Charles of Trémoille
Henri Charles of Trémoïlle (December 17th 1620, Thouars - September 14th 1672, Thouars) it is the son of Henri III of Trémoïlle, duke of Thouars, duke of Trémoille and Marie of the Tower of Auvergne.
He is prince of Talmont and Tarente, count of Laval, Montfort, Taillebourg and Benon. Marquis of Even Noirmoutier, of France and Knight of the Jumper in 1653 (patent n°457).
It is also known to be the 5th duke of Thouars and duke of Trémoille , and that, although it died before his father.
Into 1628 his/her father Henri III of Trémoïlle and it are converted with Catholicism, but his/her mother Marie of the Tower of Auvergne convinces it to reconvert herself with the prostestantism with her majority. In 1638, it made its first weapons in Holland near his/her uncle the prince d' Orange. In October 1651, it fronda against Mazarin and supported Condé openly. In 1656 it is stopped and imprisoned with Amiens. His/her mother who remained in bond with the court posed in mediator and it obtained its release after several months of enfermement. It was then relegated in Poitou then turned over to be useful in Holland. In 1668, it returned from Holland to manage the good of the duchy of Thouars, his/her father being weakens by the disease. The September 3rd, 1670 it abjured with Angers like his/her oldest son Charles Belgium Holland
He died two years before his father in 1672, it was thus his oldest son Charles Belgium Holland who succeeded the 3rd duke of Thouars Henri III of Trémoïlle.
Family
He married the May 15th 1648 Emilie de Hesse-Kassel, girl of Guillaume V of Hesse-Cassel and Amélie Elisabeth de Hanau-Münzenberg. From this union was born 5 children:
- Charlotte-Amélie of Trémoïlle born on January 3rd, 1652 and dead on January 21st, 1732. She married on May 29th, 1680 Anton Graf von Aldenburg (1633-1681),
- Charles Belgium Holland of Trémoille which follows,
- Frederic-Guillaume of Trémoïlle born in 1658 and died in 1738, prince de Talmont, count de Taillebourg and Benon. It is made sergeant in 1702, brigadier in 1704 and general lieutenant in 1710. He married the Elisabeth on February 2nd, 1707 of Bullion,
- Henriette-Celestial of Trémoïlle born on July 18th, 1662 (young dead),
- Marie-Sylvie of Trémoille born on July 18th, 1662 and died in 1692.
