Henri Auguste Delannoy

Henri Auguste Delannoy (born in 1833 and deceased in 1915) is a Mathématicien and Historien French.

Polytechnicien, it makes career in the military administration like Intendant. Mathematician amateur, his work relates to the square magic, the Combinatoire and the discrete Probabilité S. He mainly studied the use of the arithmetic chess-board S of forms varied to solve varied problems of probability like the problem of the poll. Two continuations of numbers bear its name. Friend d´ Edouard Lucas, it will take an active part in the publication of posthumous works of this one.

From 1896, he is president of the Company of Archeology and of Sciences of the Creuse. He then gives up mathematics to devote to the local history creusoise and the Limousin E until his death.
