Henri Alekan
Henri Alekan , born the February 10th 1909 and dead the June 15th 2001, is one of largest the chiefs operators French. One owes him the film photography such as: the Beautiful one and the Animal (1946), the Battle of the rail of Rene Clement (1946), Orphée (1949), the Marie of the port (1950), Austerlitz (1960) or Wings of the desire (1987). An exceptional career.
It takes part in the jury feature-length films of the Cannes festival 1983.
Alekan wrote a famous book on its approach of the light Of the lights and the shades .
Biography
Born in Paris, Henri Alekan studies with the Conservatoire national of arts and trades, then with the Institut of optics, while following the practical courses of Pathé - Cinema. Assistant operator of 1928 with 1940 (in particular of the chief operator Eugen Schüfftan), it acquires the celebrity with the Libération with the Battle of the rail of Rene Clément (1946), in the style Documentaire, and, the same year, with the Beautiful one and the Animal , of Jean Cocteau, in the style Fantastique.
