Henri-Louis-Rene of our

Henri-Louis-Rene of our (born with Ernée the January 8th 1717, died in 1793 with Coblentz), bishop of Rennes, then bishop of Verdun, religious French.

Biography

It is originating in the Famille of our, family of knights of origin Breton established and spread in the Maine since the 16th century. He is the son of Charles-Pierre of Our, chief of squadron. Therese-Julienne-Catherine of Our, his mother, small-niece and goddaughter of the abbot Etienne Dausse, abbot of Doudauville, inherited his great-uncle in 1717. She died in Ernée in 1759.

Henri of Our accepted the tonsure with the Mans the March 31st 1724 and the other orders with Meaux and Paris, with the quality of clerk of the diocese of Mans. Already chaplain of Mound-Shoeing it and Be worth (Champéon), canon of Mans, abbot of Saint-Saver of Redon (May 27th 1747), general vicar of the bishop of Saint-Brieuc, abbot of Saint-Évroult, it was called in 1761 with évêché of Rennes, of which it took possession by prosecutor the December 24th, after having received the episcopal dedication, the August 16th, of the hands of the archbishop of Paris, Christophe de Beaumont. It chaired several times the States of Brittany, attracted itself the hatred of the Parliament and asked itself its transfer on another seat. Bordeaux, where it would have found a Parliament, still frightened him. It accepted Verdun in 1769 and made most generous and the noblest use of the incomes of this évêché rich person: 20.000 books of alms per annum, 130.000 books for the foundation of the Girls of Charity, the creation of the new rooms at the hospital of Verdun, of the extraordinary helps during the Winter of 1782, give an idea of its liberality. It exiled in 1791, was accommodated with veneration by the archbishop of Trier, returned one moment in 1792 to occupy its seat, turned over soon to Trier, then with Coblentz, where it died, 77 years old, in 1793. Its funeral was those of a prince of the Empire.
