Hennuyères

Hennuyères (in Walloon Innuyere ) is a section of the Belgian Ville of Braine-the-Count located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977

Hennuyères is largest villages of the city. It counts more 3  000 inhabitants whereas Braine-the-Count has just exceeded the course of the 20  000 inhabitants. It is in 1977 qu ' Hennuyères amalgamated with Braine-the-Count.

History

The first traces which one has of Hennuyères go back to 765. The village bears the name of " then; Henwirch". In 877, Charles the Bald person yields this plot of land to the chapter of Nivelles. It is called " Hannuaria". In 1509, " Heinuyères" fact part of the field which the Lords of Enghien in the Brabant had. This village thus raised, formerly, of the Duché of the Brabant, the town hall of Bubbles and the diocese of Namur.

Curiosities of the village

The village conceals curiosities enormously… Such an amount of from the architectural point of view (the beautiful Holy-Gertrude church going back to 1555, many small vaults, houses of line of the street of Gourmette and the Station, Old Tileries…), that from the point of view of the green areas (celebrates it Bois of the Holly-grove extends on a beautiful part of the village, the fields do not miss, not surrounded by paths…).

On the level of animations, one can note the various activities of the ASBL " Hennuyères Animations" (choral societies, jogging annual…), of dynamics joint committee with Codroipo, of the Friends of the Bridge (two cycle races per annum), of the friends of the center of the village (village fair and secondhand trade in July), etc
