Hengwiller

Hengwiller is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace.

Geography

Hengwiller is located at the foot of the the Vosges, not far from Reutenburgerkopf (586 m), in the south-west of Marmoutier. It close communes to Dimbsthal and Salenthal in the North-East, to Birkenwald in south-east, Obersteigen in south-west and Reinhardsmunster in the North-West.

Crossed by the secondary road 117 which serves Dimbsthal in the east and Rheinhardsmunster in the west, the commune is to 5 km of RN 4.

The communal round of applause with the shape of a south-western/north-eastern rectangle directed of a width of 2,2 km towards 1,2 km, bordered in north by Dorrenbach which is thrown, via Mosselbach, in the Zorn on the level of Dettwiller, and in the North-East by the hill of Tannenberg. The village is at an average altitude of 290 Mr.

The landscape is primarily made up of meadows and orchards which account for 80% of the territory.
