Hemispheres

Hemispheres is the sixth album of the group of progressive Rock Canadian: Rush.

With this album, continuous Rush has to develop conceptual topics through a music increasingly more complex and texts (written by Neil Peart) inspired by the Science-fiction.

“Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres” closes the account started on the preceding album " has Farewell to Kings " with “Cygnus X-1 Book I”. In this cosmic adventure inside a Black hole, Rush explores the meanders of the human spirit in there integral of the elements of the Greek Mythologie. This narrative base is used to convey the idea of the conflict reports/ratios which can exist between the two hemispheres of the brain.

On the refrain of “Circumstances” Geddy Lee sings partly in French (“More that changes, plus it is the same thing”).

“The Trees” is one of the most popular titles of Rush. The text tells the fratricidal fight between the Chêne and the Érable for the search of light necessary to their survival. Ones (larger) making shade with the others. This socialist fable is inspired in the writings of the American philosopher Ayn Rand.

The instrumental piece “the Strangiato Villa”, near to the technical demonstration marks the strong personality of the musicians through rhythmic multi-instrumental complexes or soli. It is one of the titles of reference of the group Rush.
