Helviens
The Helviens (in Latin Helvii ) are a Gallic people located in the south of the Vivarais (current department of the Ardèche). According to Jules César, they had as neighbors the Gabales (customers of the Arvernes), against which they were opposed into 52 before our era, at the time of the War of Gaules. Their first capital could be the strengthened site of Jastres (Lussas). The Roman capital is Alba, where recent excavations put at the day several spaces and a religious zone (Alba, Bagnols).
