Hellsing integrated

Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing is a character of the Manga Hellsing.

Integra Hellsing is the principal female character of the manga. Of a cold and rather distant appearance, Integra is a reserved woman and lets very little show through its emotions in its work. Besides all its life seems to be devoted to it, as leading of Hellsing, it places its duty as a chief of the organization above all, even of its own honor. It is also member of the Roundtable. For it, the failure is not an option. It directs the organization with an iron hand and is one of the rare people who can hold head with the strong personality of Alucard.

Name and name

The word “Integrated” comes from the same Latin word which means “ whole ”, “ complete ”, “ having what is essential ”, “ a whole ” etc Integra being one of the main characters of work, its presence is essential with the history and this interpretation would correspond to the significance of its name. That also incluerait that it has all the necessary qualities and characteristics to be the leader of Hellsing and to survive by its own means. As regards its complete name, “ Hellsing ”, is of course an alternate version of “ Van Helsing ” (which comes from its Dutch ancestor, Abraham Van Helsing). The name “ Wingates ” was probably inspired by one of the characters of Howard Philips Lovecraft (Nathaniel Wingate Peaslee). Finally “ Fairbrook ” can claim with an additional indication on the features of the character.

Integrated is usually called “Master” by Alucard. Nevertheless in Volume 8, when Alucard is released from its last restrictions, this last calls it “Countess” after Integra was addressed to him of calling it “Count”.

Family

Integrated is downward direct of Abraham Van Helsing: character resulting from the novel Dracula of Bram Stoker), a Dutch metaphysician and philosopher, also hunter of vampire. As of its more young age, Integrated, only daughter, was formed by his/her father - Arthur Hellsing - in order to hold the reins of the organization later. But this last dies under its eyes, carried by the disease while his/her daughter was only 13 years old. His/her uncle, Richard, tried to get rid of it in order to take the orders of the Hellsing family at this time on his account.

Capacities and talents

Integrated seems to have developed its talents of leader since his childhood in order to prove its value in the middle of the dominant male gente which could have excluded it because of its age and from its sex. She seems to be able to control the seals of restrictions of the capacities of Alucard, certainly thanks to her statute.

Relation with Alucard

The relation enters Integra and Alucard is very complex. It seems much deeper than a simple industrial relationship since it was described as “love twisted” by the author himself. Integrated knows Alucard since the death of his/her father, more exactly after it awoke by Alucard accident of its sleep to the basements of the house of Hellsing (Volume 1 and OAV 1). In Volume 7, Alucard goes right towards England “to find a woman that it is due for him and that it wished a long time”, this scene is a parallel to a similar event in the novel of Bram Stoker (in particular in the film adaptation of Francis Ford Coppola with Bram Stoker' S Dracula). In Volume 8 and for the first time, when Alucard is free restriction of its seals, it calls Integra “Countess” after this one was addressed to him as “Count”.
