Helle Thorning-Schmidt
Helle Thorning-Schmidt (born December 14th 1966 with Rødovre) is a political woman Danish, leading of the Socialdemokraterne since the April 12th 2005.
In April 2005, Socialdemokraterne seek to replace Mogens Lykketoft, resigner following the bad electoral performance of the social democrats to legislative of February 2005. At the time of this election, Thorning-Schmidt obtains 53 % of the voices against 47 % with its opponent Frank Jensen and becomes the first woman to direct the party in 134 years of history of the Danish social democrats.
It is member of the Socialdemokraterne since 1993 and was elected appointed European in 1999 (until June 2004). Elected with the Folketing, the February 8th 2005.
