Helene Weigel

Helene Weigel (born the May 12th 1900 with Vienna, † the May 6th 1971 with Berlin) was actress and director of the Berliner Ensemble. After having received an education of actress until in 1919, to Vienna, it leaves to Francfort-sur-le-Main before being established with Berlin in 1922.
In 1923, it becomes acquainted with Bertolt Brecht. Their Stefan son is born in 1924. 5 years later, they marry and in 1930, their Barbara daughter comes in the world.
After the death of Bertolt Brecht in 1956, Helene Weigel continues to direct the Berliner Ensemble created by her husband in 1949.
