Helene Butcher
Helene Boucher (Paris, May 23rd 1908 - Guyancourt, November 30th 1934) is a French aviatrice . It beat many speed records.
Helene Boucher beats several world speed records in the plane between July and November 1934. The November 11th 1934 it reaches the world records on 1000 km with 444 km/h. She dies a few days later in an air crash, during a training flight in the forest of the Vallée of Mérantaise close to the Aérodrome to Guyancourt in the Yvelines. A stele at this place commemorates the tragedy. It rests today with the cemetery of Yermenonville, where it lived its youth.
Today of many colleges, colleges, and primary schools bear its name, of which that of its native village with Yermenonville.
