Helen Shapiro

Helen Shapiro is a singer of British rock'n'roll, born in Bethnal Green with London the September 28th 1946. It appeared twice in the first place of the British hit-parade in 1961 with You don' T know and Walkin' back to happiness , whereas it was 14 years old. It recorded in particular for the discs Columbia and Pye.

In February 1963, it is at the head of poster of a round which crosses England, with a young group of Liverpool in first part: The Beatles .

Success being moved away, Helen Shapiro was directed towards the jazz and the music gospel. It also took part in the musical comedy Oliver! , of Lionel Bart. It published its autobiography in 1993, entitled Walking back to happiness.
