Heinz Field

The Heinz Field (called Steelers Stadium during its construction and called The Big Ketchup Bottle or The Mustard De luxe hotel ) is a stage of American football located at the edge of Allegheny River opposite the center of the businesses of Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania. The stage is mainly used for the matches of American football but sometimes it organizes concerts and matches of Soccer.

Since 2001, it is the playing field of the Steelers de Pittsburgh which play in the northern division of the American Football Conference in NFL and of the team of American football NCAA of the Université of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Panthers. Its capacity is of 65.050 places while having 129 continuations of luxury and 7.300 seats of club.

History

After 30 years with the Three Rivers Stadium, the Steelers de Pittsburgh play now Heinz Field . As much from other teams in the years 1990, the Steelers received funds public to build a new stage. They had played Three Rivers Stadium with the Pirates of Pittsburgh (MLB) during more than three decades. This old stage was demolished in 2001 whereas the construction of the Heinz Field began the June 18th 1999 is the same year as PNC Park, the new residence of the Pirates of Pittsburgh.

The two stages were built on the edges Allegheny River. During work, the building bore the name of Steelers Stadium . A partnership of $57 million USD over 20 years with Heinz Company was concluded, the new stage of the Steelers was famous Heinz Field .
