Heinrich Christian Boie

Heinrich Christian Boie (July 19th 1744 - March 3rd 1806), German writer .
Born in the town of Meldorf in the Holstein (belonging then to the kingdom of the Denmark), Boie studied the right to the university of Iéna. In 1769, it arrived at Göttingen where it became one of the great mind of the “Dichterbund” or “Hain” of Göttingen. The poetic talent of Drinks was certainly poor, but its knowledge of the literature, its taste and its judgment were exemplary.
It founded with Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter Göttingen Musenalmanach in 1770, which it directed and published until in 1775, when, with Christian Wilhelm von Dohm, it published Das deutsche Museum, which became one of the best literary periodicals of this time. In 1776, he became secretary of the commander-in-chief with Hanover, and, in 1781, was named administrator of the province of Süderditmarschen in Holstein. He died in Meldorf.
