Heel (wrestling)

The word Heel with the Catch indicates to some extent the malicious one on the boxing ring. It is the opposite of the Face and it spends its time cheating to force crowd to hoot it.

Their characteristics

What usually characterize them

It gains its victories while cheating (attacks with weapons, attacks illegal, while attacking with several, etc…).
It accepts the defeat badly (striking its adversaries after the match…).
It personally attacks the Face in the slides even on their premises (Edge at John Cena).
It uses " fallen arrogants" (ex: Kevin Federline which carried out fallen on John Cena).
It needs the assistances (to cheat or distract the referee) of its servant/to manage and/or his allies.
It insults and/or cause the fans.
It is helped of the cords to make fallen: it is one fallen illegal.
It employs the favorite catches and/or of completion of the Face to cause it and/or humiliate.
It purposely makes lose its matches by external calculation or disqualification to avoid losing by fallen.
It sends all-in wrestlers to the hospital so that those goes away for a certain time to see for always (Randy Orton sent Shawn Michaels, RVD, Dusty Rhodos, and Mick Foley at the hospital by concussion)

It is not in so far as they are not great champions!

Various types of heel

Foreigner heel (the Foreigner anti-American)

To WWE, the majority of the all-in wrestlers not-originating in the United States were brought to play the part of the malicious immigrant, ungrateful with his land of welcome. Since decades, malicious Arab/Russian/English/Canadian/French followed one another on the boxing rings with a gimmick of this type, more or less racist and stereotyped, insulting the American fans and profaning their flag. The public adores to hoot this kind of character, and to stress " THE USA, THE USA! " to encourage their adversaries.

ex: Sylvan, Rene Duprée, Muhammad Hassan, Iron Sheik, Daivari or The Un-Americans.

Crazy heel (the insane one)

They are dangeureux and insane all-in wrestlers who attack other all-in wrestlers without reasons, just for the pleasure of hurting.

ex: The Great Khali, Kane, Snitsky, Umaga, Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, Edge or Randy Orton.

Monster heel (the Invincible Monster)

This gimmick is ideal for the all-in wrestlers with the physique except standards, but not very gifted for the interviews and the pure fight. Large, extremely, the monster destroys their adversaries or even people innocent just for the pleasure of badly making (like the crazy heel) or to calm its fury. They are squashers, they are often unverifiable, they make fear practically with a majority of the all-in wrestlers and even, they wound sometimes their adversaries.

ex: The Great Khali, Kane, The Big Show, The Undertaker, Snitsky, Umaga, Abyss, Big Daddy V or Mark Henry.

Traitor heel (the Traitor)

In the United States, when an all-in wrestler is turned over against his country, he is regarded as a traitor by the public. For example when an American all-in wrestler is combined with an all-in wrestler of another nationality. But in Japan, if the all-in wrestlers are combined with nonJapanese American or other all-in wrestlers, are also regarded as traitors.

ex: Rob Conway, Sgt. Slaughter, Keiji Mutoh, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan or Satoshi Kojima.

Delinquent heel (the Delinquent)

A delinquent all-in wrestler wants to say that an all-in wrestler who acts with violence, mockery, vulgarity and vandalism on the other all-in wrestlers, but sometimes, it fixes their own law at the other all-in wrestlers. There exist also delinquent clans and teams.

ex: Stone Cold Steve Austin, D-Generation X, New World Order and Rated-RKO.

Egotistical heel (the egoist)

This qualifies a loose, egoistic and arrogant all-in wrestler. He thinks only of him and believes himself higher than the others. Cetains are cowards (fleeing when they feel in danger).

ex: Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Jeff Jarrett, Carlito, John Morisson/Johnny Nitro, Adam Edge, Randy Orton, Mr.Kennedy, M.V.P, Mike Mizanin, King Booker, Chris Masters, Finlay, Vince McMahon or Shane McMahon.

Popular heel (the malicious popular one)

The term Popular heel means quite simply that heel ( does not import standard a heel ) is acclaimed by the public although they are malicious. They are liked by the public.

ex: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Mr.Kennedy, Ric Sense of smell, The Undertaker, Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Kane or Randy Orton.
