Hedwige Anger of Poland
Hedwige Anger of Anjou , born the February 15th 1372, died with Cracow the July 17th 1399, king de Pologne, girl of Louis Ier Large the, king de Hongrie and of Poland, and Elisabeth of Bosnia.
It succeeded her father in 1382 in Poland, while his/her sister Marie inherited the throne of Hungary.
Although it is today called " the reine" , Hedwige was crowned King de Pologne - Hedvig Rex Poloniæ , and not Hedvig Regina Poloniæ . The male kind of its title stresses that it was monarch full rights, while the title of queen designated only the woman of the king (in English).
She married the February 18th 1386 in Cracow Ladislas II Jagellon (1351 † 1424), large duke of Lithuania. She died with her first daughter Elisabeth Bonifacia after the complications of the childbirth and the Diet of Poland elects her husband to succeed to him.
It was canonized by Jean-Paul II the June 8th 1997.
