Hectorellaceae
The family of the Hectorellaceae is a family of plants Dicotylédone S which includes/understands only two species of the kinds:
- Hectorella
- Lyallia
They are perennial, cespiteuses plants herbaceous, originating in the cold or moderate areas of the southern hemisphere (New Zealand and Îles Kerguelen).
This family does not exist in the traditional classification of Cronquist (1981). The phylogenetic classification APG II (2003) locates the species in the family of the Portulacaceae . Nevertheless, this family of the Hectorellaceae does not seem yet not rejected completely.
