Hector-Martin Lefuel
Hector - Martin Lefuel , born with Versailles the November 14th 1810 and died in Paris the December 31st 1880, is a Architecte French.
Biography
Wire of a contractor of Versailles, Hector Lefuel is allowed In 1829 with the École of the Art schools, where he is the pupil of Jean-Nicolas Huyot. Prize winner of the Price of Rome in 1839 with a project of Town hall , he is boarder of the Villa Médicis of 1840 with 1844.On its return in France, it opens a workshop and became inspector of the House of Commons.
After having led work to Meudon in 1848 (castle) and to Sevres in 1852 (manufacture), it is named architect of the Château of Fontainebleau, where it designs a new room of theater (1853 - 1855).
Whereas he works in Fontainebleau, Lefuel is charged to continue work of the Louvre after the brutal death of Visconti. It completes the ambitious project of this last by giving him a character néo-baroque specific to the large monuments of the Second Empire.
He is elected member of the Académie of the fine arts in 1855.
