History

Perhaps the name Heaulme comes from Germanic the Helm , helmet then heaume, or rather of former French herm , desert, which gave the word hermit.

The village is established far from the main roads of communication, in a light depression between two main forests. It was of this fact relatively protected from the destruction of the Guerre One hundred Year old. The stronghold forms part at the 18th century of the seigniory of the marquis de Gouy, brigadier of the armies of the king, and general lieutenant of Île-de-France at the department of Vexin. During the French revolution, the town hall is installed in the presbytery, and remained in these places until in 1873.
