Healthy (river)

The Healthy , is a French river which runs in the department of the the Jura. It is an affluent of the Ain out of left bank.

Geography

The Healthy one is born in a green and little populated area, within the small town of Foncine-le-Haut, within the Regional natural park of the High-Jura. It moves initially towards south-west, then with semi-course, it obliques towards the North-West, direction which it will maintain to its confluence with Ain on the level of the locality of Syam, located on Ain with four kilometers upstream of Champagnole.

The common crossings are Foncine-le-Haut, Foncine-le-Bas, the Board-in-Mountain, Lime-of-Crotenay the and Syam, all located in the department of the the Jura.

Hydrology

The average interannual flow or module of Healthy, with the confluence of Ain is worth 8,5 m ³ a second for a catchment area of only 196 km ². The Lame of water past in the basin is of 1  360 millimetres, which is very high, four times superior with that of the average of France, all confused basins, and too superior with that of the average of the basin of Ain, already extremely high (1  070 millimetres in Chazey-on-Ain). Its specific Flow or Qsp consequently assembles to a solid 43,4 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
