Headlight of the Island of Batz
The Phare of the Île of Batz (into Breton Enez vaz wants to say island of the stick ) is located on the highest hill, in the north of the island. It faces the town of Roscoff.
It is built out of granite coming from the Island-Large , in the Coast-with Armor. The driving staircase with the lantern comprises 210 steps. The headlight also has a red auxiliary fire.
The headlight is not kept any more since 1995, date in retirement of the last guard.
The headlight is visited only in summer.
