Headlight of the Gray course Nose
The current Phare of the Cape Gray-Nose lights the strait of Pas-de-Calais. It was brought into service in 1957.
It is an apparent stone construction being in the classified site (1987) of the two courses of the Côte of Opal (Cape Blanc-Nez and Gray-Nose).
With its foot the CROSS-COUNTRY RACE Gris Nose is (Operational regional center of surveillance and of rescue).
The first headlight was lit in 1837 and raised in 1861; the electrification of this one was done in 1869. Destroyed by the Germans during the summer 1944, the tower was rebuilt in 1952.
