Head office of energy and the raw materials

The Head office of Energy and Raw materials (DGEMP) is a direction of central administration, depend since 2007 on the Ministère of Ecology, the Development and Installation Durable (before, it belonged to the Ministère of the Economy, Finances and Industry).

Missions

It defines and implements the energy policy of France and supply mineral raw materials.

In these sectors, its missions can be gathered around six axes:

  • the opening of the energy markets, in particular electric and gas;
  • the follow-up of the key sectors of energy and the raw materials;
  • the supervision of the companies and public corporations;
  • controls and kingly missions;
  • work with the international plan and Community;
  • economic expertise.

Organization

The DGEMP is mainly divided into 2 directions:

  • DIREM (Direction of the Energy resources and Mineral), rather centered on the energy provisioning and the production, itself divided into subdirectorate:

- 1st subdirectorate: Supply hydrocarbons - 2nd subdirectorate: Nuclear industry - 3rd subdirectorate: Refining and oil logistics - 4th subdirectorate: Mines and raw materials - National service of the interallied pipelines (SNOI)

  • DIDEME (Direction of the Request and the Energy Markets), rather centered on consumption and the energy markets:

- 5th subdirectorate: Ask and controls energy - 6th subdirectorate: Electric system - 7th subdirectorate: Gas and distribution of fossil energies - Office of the social and statutory affairs of electric and gas industries - Engineering service of electrical energy and dam (STEEGB)

  • There exists finally the Pôle general affairs and synthesis , pole functional of support and economic observation:

- 8th subdirectorate: Synthesis and international strategy - Observatory of the raw material and energy saving - Office of the general affairs and the means. General secretary.
