Head of Dog

The Tête of Dog is a headland having an altitude of 550 Mètre S.

The Head of Dog is located in the territory of Turbie which is a common French, is located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

The Head of Dog and the Mont Agel dominate the Principality of Monaco.

It is this Head of Dog which made lose much of its strategic importance to the fortress of Monaco during the Eighteenth century: with technological advance (artillery of the Gribeauval type developed by Jean-Baptiste Vaquette de Gribeauval, etc), a battery installed on this headland could from now on crush the place with bearing end; also the prince Honore III of Monaco came from there to limit the expenses for the maintenance of his fortress.
