Head MR.

The head MR. is one of the three types of play-back heads existing on the hard drives.

MR. means MagnetoRésistive

This system of reading uses in fact two play-back heads: for the writing and for the reading, that of reading being based on a new principle.

In reading mode:

the magnétorésistive head is reserved for the reading. In the presence of a magnetic field, its electrical resistance is modified. These changes, detected, make it possible to know the information recorded on the disc.

In writing mode:

a inductive Tête is in charge of the writing.
