Head-the-parade

Head-the-Parade is a common French, located in the department of the Lozere and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Huriens.

Geography

Born from the fusion of the old communes of " Hures" and of " Parade" , the commune, very vast by its surface, extends on the Causse Méjean and part of the Gorges of Jonte. It has several Romance churches ( Hures , the Parade , Saint Gervais of the Twelve ), as well as a Romance cross with the Buffre . The agriculture consolidated by the Country holidays is the principal activity of the commune, which also has on its territory celebrates it pit of the Aven Armand.

History

In May 1944, a violent one combat opposed the Maquisard S of the Bir-Hackeim group to the troops Nazis.
