Hazel nut rose tree
The rose tree Noisette ( Rosa ×noisettaeana Thory) is a spontaneous hybrid of Rosier discovered by Louis Claude Noisette about 1814 and dedicated to its discoverer by Claude Antoine Thory (under the name of Rosa noisettiana ) in his work the Pinks , illustrated by Redouté.
This hybrid is at the origin of a class of rose trees, the “Noisette rose trees” and the “rose trees tea-Hazel nut”, resulting from sowings then of hybridizations carried out by Rosiériste S during the 19th century.
It is known in the trade under the name of “ Blush Noisette ”.
History
The origin of the rose trees Hazel nut and the rose trees Tea-Hazel nut is a accidental hybridization discovered by John Champney, a grower of Charleston in South Carolina, in 1811. It is about ( Rosa moschata × ld Blush ) with large pink flowers, odorous, in abundant bouquets but not tonics (this character will appear with its sowing Blush Noisette ) which it names initially Rosa moschata hybrida then Champney' S Pink Cluster or Champney Pink .It is Philippe Noisette, established him also in Charleston, which had given him Old Blush provided by his/her brother Louis Noisette, with which they will send seeds which will be at the origin of the Noisette rose trees. Description
- Blush Hazel nut , the Rosa ×noisettaeana of Thory, sowing of Champney' S Pink Cluster , tonic obtained by Louis Hazel nut in 1814. It is a rose tree high bush 2 meters, which, trained, goes up to 5 meters. The flowers are out of cut, almost doubles, pink lilac.

- the first tea-Hazel nut is the hybrid of a Rosa odorata with yellow flowers with Blush Noisette , it is a pale rose tree with flowers yellow tinted apricot, Jaune Desprez , obtained by Desprez in 1830.
