Hazard warning signal

To be in situation of distress means being under the threat of serious and imminent danger.

It was necessary to codify or regulate the signals which can mean the distress in order to avoid confusions. The signals are generally used when there is a defect of communication (too large distance so that the word is not enough, radio operator lack of means electric, of telephone, aquatic environment, etc).
