Hawker Siddeley Aircraft is an aeronautical manufacturer English founded in 1935 as a Holding of the companies Hawker Aircraft (initially founded by Harry Hawker in 1912), Gloster Aircraft, Armstrong Whitworth and Armstrong Siddeley Motors.
This manufacturer is at the origin of some famous planes like the Hurricane, the Tempest, the Hunter and the Harrier.
In 1955, Hawker repurchases the manufacturer Canadian English Avro then, in 1960, the English manufacturers De Havilland and Blackburn Aircraft Limited. The branch engines returned to Bristol in 1961.
In 1977, Hawker is nationalized and amalgamated with other companies to form British Aerospace.
