Havelock (Quebec)

Havelock is a Municipalité of canton in the regional Municipalité of county of the High-Saint-Laurent to the Quebec, located in the administrative area of the Montérégie.
Of rather irregular form, the canton of Havelock is located on the canado-American Frontière and it is crossed by the river with the English. The choice of the Havelock toponym comes from the general English to sir Henry Havelock (1795-1857) which fought during the Crimean War (1854-1855) and which was illustrated in India at the time of the Révolte of Cipayes (1857).
The canton is crossed by the roads 202 and 203. It is with the intersection of these two roads that the village of Havelock is. In addition to the village, Havelock has two named hamlets Russeltown Flats and Covey Hill . The first was named according to the name of one of wire of the lord of Beauharnois. The second is with the foot of the Covey mount on the of the same way name.
