Hauzen Cup

The Hauzen Cup is a South Korean competition of Football professional created in 2004. It draws its name from the sponsor of the K-League, Hauzen.

The Hauzen Cup is held during the first part of the season. All the teams of K-League take part in it. The tournament begin with a phase from hens during which 12 teams divided into two groups must clash. The first two teams of each group join the champion of K-League and the winners of the Coupe of South Korea of the former season.

It should be noted that in 2006 the competition take place during the summer in order to allow the players selected in national team to concentrate on the preparation of the World cup.
