- Laténium - Park and museum of archeology of Neuchâtel
- Laténium exposes 50000 years of prehistory and history through new settings in scene. More than one hundred archeological sites hidden under the ground or water of the lake were put at the day in the last few years, covering the period going of the Homme of Néandertal to the Moyen-âge. The museum bears the name of Laténium in homage to Tène which, of Ireland in Romania, indicates the Celtic age of the second age of iron. The permanent exposure is a voyage in time and space. Stone of Hauterive
Calcareous rock, of characteristic yellow color. There are several careers on the commune of Hauterive, all closed. The first were opened by the Romans, one finds in particular stone of Hauterive in the Roman ruins of Aventicum (
Avenches), and in the abbey one of
Payerne. Name of Hauterive also comes the geological period from the hautrivien. Many houses of Hauterive, of
Neuchâtel, but also of the surroundings, were built out of stone of Hauterive.
