Hassan Abad
Hassan Abad حسنآباد|Hassan Ābād is a district of Teheran, Iran. It one of the traditional districts of businesses of the city, is located in the center of Teheran.
The district developed during the period Qajare, at the time where the young capital extended very quickly. A place of the same name is in this district. The characteristic of this place is to be surrounded by four buildings identical to each corner of the rectangle which it forms. These buildings were built by Ghelidj Baghelian قليچباقليان and its engineer Leon Tadossian لئونتادوسيان , famous Armenian architect.
After the Iranian Revolution of 1979, the place is famous “Place of the 31 Shahrivar”. It remains known today under these two names.
The Organization of the cultural heritage of Iran rebuilt several of the buildings of the place Hassan Abad, by adding however two stages to the initial structure.
The district is close to many governmental offices and is served by a station of the Métro of Teheran.
