A has-been (literally meaning Anglicisme “was”) is, with a pejorative connotation, somebody or something of obsolete, which passed from mode. In particular, the expression indicates a Célébrité having been a real success in the past, but which since fell into the lapse of memory; it is generally of Artiste S (Chanteur S, Acteur S, etc) or about TV hosts.
The One-hit wonder S (artists having gained only one success in all their career), are typical examples of has-been .
Sometimes the has-been manage to reconsider the front of the scene, by operating a Comeback .
