Harry Mathews
Harry Mathews is a American writer , born the February 14th 1930 with New York.
Biography
After having studied the music with Harvard, of which it was graduate in 1952, it was devoted to the literature.In 1956, it started to publish poems in reviews. Two years, strongly influenced later by the reading of Raymond Roussel, it began its first novel, Conversions .
In 1970, it met Georges Perec which made it thereafter enter to the Oulipo and which translated two of its novels.
He married Niki de Saint-Phalle, whereas he was still young, and in have two children before divorcing. He is today the husband of Marie Chaix, which is also its translator.
