Harrison Dillard

William Harrison Dillard , born the July 8th 1923 with Cleveland (Ohio) is old a American Athlète . He is the athète to have only gained Olympic gold in sprint and on the hedges.

After having been useful in the American army during the Second world war, Harrison Dillard is turned over to the college and the athletics, inspired by another inhabitant of Cleveland Jesse Owens. He excelled particularly on the hedges and was probably best the hurdler of immediate after war. Nevertheless it failed at the time of the qualifications on 110 m hedges for the Olympic Games of summer of 1948 and qualified only third (and the qualified last) on 100 Mr.

The plays, the finale of the 100 m was played between Dillard and its compatriot Barney Ewell. The Photo finish showed that Dillard had gained, equalizing the world records at the same time. As a member of the relay 4 X 100 m, it gained a second gold medal.

Four years more, it was qualified on 110 m hedges and gained the Olympic title. A new victory out of relay 4 X 100 m brought a fourth Olympic gold medal to him.

It still tried to be qualified for the Olympic Games of summer of 1956 but failed.
