Harrison
To ballast " Les" Harrison (August 20th 1904 - December 23rd 1997) was a player, trainer of Basket-ball professional American and an owner of team and is member of the Basketball Hall off Famed.
After its diploma in East High School with Rochester, New York, in 1923, Harrison started to play, involve, as a semi-professional, working for the Rochester Seagrams and later the Rochester Ebers.
In 1945, with his brother Joseph (Jack), Harrison founded his own semi-professional team, the Rochester Pros; in 1946, the frankness changed name into Royals and started to play in National Basketball League (NBL). Harrison involved his team during three years in NBL, leading Royals to three consecutive Finales NBL (by gaining some one, vis-a-vis the Sheboygan Redskins in 1946) and signing an assessment of 99 victories and 43 defeats. In 1946, Harrison, as an owner of team, signed the player of the Université Length Island, Dolly King; King became the first Afro-American to be played in the league since 1943 and the first to have a true time of play.
After the season 1947-1948, Harrison moved off his team in Basketball Association America (BAA), and, after its team had spent one year in BAA, sat at the committee which chaired fusion between BAA and NBL to become the National Basketball Association. Harrison involved Royals at the time of the season 1954-1955 and withdrew himself after having led his team to five titles of division NBA and championship NBA in 1951. There remained owner of Royals for three years additional, redéménageant its team with Cincinnati, Ohio (the team existed then with Sacramento, California, as a Sacramento Kings), until the season 1957 and selling the team in 1958.
As a member of the board of directors of the NBL, BAA and NBA, taking part in fusion between NBL and BAA, having been at the origin of the introduction of the 24 second old clock, Harrison was established with the Basketball Hall off Famed in 1980; in 1990, he was established with the International Jewish Sports Hall off Famed.
