Harpist
The harpist is the Musicien which plays of the Harpe.
For reasons difficult to clarify, the traditional harpists are often women. However, one counts, in particular at the 19th century, of large harpists (François Joseph Naderman, Elias Parish Alvars, Nicolas Bochsa, etc). One will not forget to also note the services with the toothing-stone of Harpo Marx (one of the Marx Brothers).
There are other categories of harpists: Celtic harpist, South American harpist, African harpist, harpist of jazz.

Armelle Gourlaouën
Armelle Gourlaouën is one of the only harpist in France to be played of three toothings-stone in recital. It uses the traditional toothing-stone, the Celtic toothing-stone and the toothing-stone troubadour. Each one having its own characteristics and its own repertory, Armelle Gourlaouën takes you along the Middle Ages to our days. Its rich and varied repertory, composed of original works and transcriptions, Marie traditional parts and new interpretations. She will enchant you by its dynamic style, power of its interpretation, the fairyhood of sound tact. Armelle Gourlaouën produced and diffuse of many recordings, only with its three toothings-stone and in duet violin or flute. It composes, arrange and publishes collections and partitions for toothing-stone troubadour, Celtic and traditional; it is type-setter and arranger with the SACEM. It obtained the price SACEM with the contest of composition of the International meetings of Celtic toothings-stone of Dinan on July 15th, 2000. Selected with the 8th congress world of the toothing-stone in Geneva in July 2002, it takes part since 2000 in international festival “the Insane Day” of Nantes and plays there in 2004 with Ysaÿe quartet. Of traditional, titular formation of the diploma for the occupation of State, gold medal-holder of Academy of Nantes, First Price of the Kingdom of the Music (Radio France). Pedagog in music school, it is also tutor for future professors with the CEFEDEM Brittany-Country of the Loire. It creates one together of toothing-stone, from 8 to 20 harpists, with whom it occurs regularly in concert (Days of the toothing-stone in Arles - Insane Day of Nantes). To visit its site
