The Nuit of Molières is the occasion for the world of the Théâtre French to decree price, each May since 1987. This great festival of the theater was created by private theater directors (Jean-Michel ROUZIERE and Jerome HULLOT) and public and critics. The name pays homage to Jean-Baptiste Poquelin known as Molière.

Short history of Molières

The press and its journalists commenting on the theatrical topicality, its criticisms theatrical, through the Syndicat of the dramatic Critique of the theater directors private and public meet to work out what will become in 1987 the first night of Molières. When the project is finalized they create an association which takes the SOFT FOOD name (Professional association and Artistic of the Theater) and call upon Georges Cravenne which is then known to be the specialist in the implementation of this type of ceremony. After the failure of 2004 and it not diffusion of the emission on television, the SOFT FOOD knows a true recasting with the election of a new Board of directors including/understanding three colleges: a college of 6 representatives of the private Theater, a college of 6 representatives of the public Theater and a college of 6 qualified personalities. These 18 members with deliberative voice are assisted by members with advisory voice which are the representatives of the State, Syndéac, the SDTP, the SACD and Adami. Its president is then Pierre Santini which in June 2006 Jean-Claude Houdinière will succeed. They are assisted of Genevieve Dichamp acting general and Keff AsSandra. At the beginning of 2006, the SOFT FOOD renovates its electorate and creates the Academy of Molières made up of approximately 1.300 people representative of the profession: more than 50% actors to which the 150 " are added; moliérisés" of the nineteen previous years and 300 producers and diffusers of the public sectors and private as well as authors, directors, creative lights, costumes, decorators/scenographers, journalists, criticisms, agents, qualified personalities. The members of the new academy commit themselves voting with the two turns.

Since 2007 the SOFT FOOD is given as objective in complement of the organization of the night of Molières on television to promote public a daily short format which would make it possible to give to see with the televiewers a part per day the every day of the year.
