Harmattan
The harmattan is a hot and dry wind, of North-eastern direction with Is, coming from the the Sahara. It blows from December to February on all the West Africa, of the the Sahel to the Cameroun and the Chad.
Charged with dust and sands, it supports the epidemics of Méningite in the country sahéliens, in particular the Burkina Faso and the Mali. Indeed, by weakening the mucous membranes, dust supports the passage of the Méningocoque in blood.
In addition, the date of its beginning of appearance (enters at the end of November and at the beginning of January), its duration, and its intensity can strongly influence agricultural harvests in West Africa. Indeed, it pushes back the face inter tropical (FIT) above the Golfe of Guinea, preventing the rains on the whole of the area.
